#5 - Breaking down to build up
I think it's important to mention my current situation, because I'm not the only one this has happened to, and it simply happens. But I believe how you deal with it is what separates a project from an abandonment
I've made some progress that hasn't been published in the devlog yet... My character casts three types of powers using custom HLSL shaders. The character adopts a "Kamehameha" stance, the ball grows in scale, and can finally be launched. The character can rotate on its axis to aim, and there are some chasing zombies that we need to kill with one power or another, depending on their color.
So, what's the problem?
I don't like it. I'm bored with myself. I can't align the game's concepts with the aesthetics, and I don't know how to implement functional gameplay, so I want to redo the project.
The revamp is already underway, and I will be salvaging some concepts. I hope that by 'destroying,' I can see more clearly what the game needs instead of forcing my ideas.
Thank you for reading.
Ruu.
